Here is an example of how to very quickly use Auctioneer to make gold every day. I think that part of what makes this effective is the timing. I believe the best deals are to be had early in the morning. The reason for this is that as everyone has finished up for the night, everyone dumps their stuff onto the Auction House, flooding it with supplies. Which means that usually people undercut each other and the prices get lower than they should.

* I wake up, log on, and I’m always standing by an auctioneer when I log off, so I talk to the auctioneer, and run my Scan. I uncheck Containers, since I neither buy nor sell. I might be missing some deals, but I have found it useless to scan them.
* I take a shower.
* I run back downstairs to watch the scan finish up.
* As soon as it’s done, I go to the Search tab that Auctioneer has added to the interface.
* I have 4 ‘Saved Searches’:
1. Buyouts where the item is underlisted by 80% or more and I can make at least 1g profit
2. Buyouts where the item is underlisted by 50% or more and I can make at least 2g50s profit
3. Bids (short and medium) where the item is underlisted by 75% or more with 1g profit
4. Bids (short and medium) where the item is underlisted by 50% or more with 2g50s profit
* Those just happen to be my favorites; you can create your own.
* I buyout underlisted items first, then I place my bids. Remember that some people might outbid you. Oh well. There will be other auctions.
* I run to the mailbox to pick up the items I bought out.
* I bring them back and post them. If it was a large stack, depending on how the item is used, I split it when I list it.
* Done.

    Hey I love your easy to understand explanation but I just downloaded Auctioneer and I think the Interface has changed I don’t see the search tab at the bottom. Can you give us an update tutorial regarding the new Auctioneer?

    Thanks!

    in auctioneer under the search tab what searcher do you use. i.e. resale,arbitor,prospect and so on. i went with resale, it seemed to be the most obvious choice but i wanted to double check.

    It’s all about how you play / what you’re trying to accomplish at the moment. When I trade I focus on the resale and arbitrage (buy low, turn around, sell high) searches. If you are leveling professions, check out milling. I have a miner, so I check out the milling tab to see if there’s any good deals on ore that can be smelted into bars. I plan on making an enchanter, so I’ll start checking out disenchant searches soon too. This is great because you can make gold and level your characters at the same time.

About Make WoW Gold

MakeWoWGold.com was created in February, 2006, at the urging of some friends who knew we were good at making gold. It became a game within the game, to see how much gold we could make, and what deals we could find. Once this site was created, other friends started contributing ideas. We finally converted it to a blog in December 2007 to make it easier to update. We would have done it sooner, but we were too busy playing WoW...
