“There are spots where the drop rate of cash or valuable items is much higher than other spots!” — FALSE

Believe me, if there was such a spot, EVERYONE would know about it, especially the professional Gold Farmers. And what would happen next? Blizzard would ‘nerf’ it (they’d make it not as valuable). Blizzard strives to keep everything in balance. For example, grinding on mobs for cash and items will generally earn about 10 gold per hour (gph) at level 60. Certain areas MIGHT be better for you, depending on your class, but in general, it will be balanced across the realm. If they detect something out of balance, they WILL change the drop rate.

Case in point: I’ve seen videos of mages soloing Dire Maul by kiting one of the bosses up and down a ramp. Do you know how fast Blizzard ‘fixed’ that as soon as word got out?

Another example is the Cemetary in Scarlet Monestary. I’ve seen gold-making guides that talk about all the silver and the blue items that the mobs there drop. “Kill them all, reset the instance, and do it again!”. The mobs drop copper now, and nothing more.

FACT #2 – Blizzard keeps the gph rate balanced across the realms. It is something they totally control and do adjust.

I have discovered “secret spots” but they move. I will give one example, but its a cheapie, there are other more lucrative spots that I will keep to myself.
In Stonetalon mountains at Mirkfallon lake walk around the lake. At certain intervals (don’t know when) you will see a school of fish, and the surface of the lake does a ripple effect (like a ping on the minimap). When your lure lands within the ping and you catch something, your rate of profession leveling appears to go up and you catch amazing things. This lasts for a few minutes and then disappears.

    That’s called fishing… :)

If anyone wants to make quick cash fishing, you need to be fishing in Wintergrasp! Do it under a bridge or something so the opposite side wont kill you… lol

Wintergrasp fish are all used in ‘Fish Feasts’, which a lot of lvl 80′s use during raids, and most can’t be bothered to fish for them thamselves, so why not make a bit of cash from their laziness?

Also, Deep Sea Monsterbellies from Borean Tundra sell well, as they’re used in Gigantic Feasts :)

About Make WoW Gold

MakeWoWGold.com was created in February, 2006, at the urging of some friends who knew we were good at making gold. It became a game within the game, to see how much gold we could make, and what deals we could find. Once this site was created, other friends started contributing ideas. We finally converted it to a blog in December 2007 to make it easier to update. We would have done it sooner, but we were too busy playing WoW...
